The answer was just as simple; impossible, it hadn’t been made yet. And that sparked an immediate and synchronous thought; design and build custom outdoor living pieces specific to the intricately designed space. Sketches of custom pieces, using clean lines in a contemporary style, warm textures of the desert and a touch of modern and industrial age followed with dramatic results.
Carbon Footprint, the partnership between Jamie and Todd had been years in the making; each having flirted with furniture design since their early college days. Both having studied architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and industrial design they share a deep love of finding non-traditional beauty in unexpected places. Education and experience entwined with the heart and soul of true artisans, Jamie and Todd knew they had the foundation to build a shared dream.
MEET THE DESIGNERS ‐Where Attitude Meets Art.
Todd Wills
As an Arizona native, Todd began his professional career in architecture and landscape architecture in the 1990’s, but as a free-thinking, independent artist with a rebellious streak he soon created his own firm, Harvest Design Group.
His custom designs have created an unrivaled reputation for design creativity, diversity and an expansive knowledge of plants and hardscape materials. His well-recognized landforms and spaces throughout the valley, primarily in the Arcadia and Paradise Valley communities, speak for his dedication to artistic achievement.
From the small economical projects to multi-million dollar installations, Todd’s designs showcases his talent and deep understanding of a client’s wishes and needs by the spaces that he creates.
Jamie Cowgill
Environmental graphic designer Jamie Cowgill was born in Indiana, but the call of the desert beckoned early in life. Moving to the Valley after college, Jamie began her professional career working with a local Arizona steel fabricator, creating wayfinding and communication graphics. It was in honing her chosen discipline that she found her real passion for design ‐ in experimenting with the intricacies in attention to detail, and the unbridled enthusiasm for exploring new ideas and artistic concepts.
After only four short years, she knew she needed to create her own, independent firm to respond artistically (and effectively) to her clients. JRC Design has been a leading firm not only in the Valley, but one that also enjoys a spotlight on the national stage for more than 25 years. In her projects, formal aesthetics, innovation and engineering give life to a unique and recognizable style‐uniquely characterized by a continuous connection between industrial design, architecture, interior design, illustration and graphic communications. This combination produces an unexpected twist on design‐at times completely rebuilding a client’s vision‐with innovative and specific technical solutions for form and function.
